The Grants in Aid of Travel Fellowships is encouraging applications to support ISAM members to attend and present at the ISAM Annual Scientific Meeting to be held September 6-10, 2011 in Oslo, Norway (www.isam2011.org).
The amount of the award is up to $3.000 US. The amount will be presented to each awardee at the Closing Ceremony (or alternatively a money order can wired after the meeting). The applicant is responsible for travel arrangements and accommodation as well as any general expenses for the conference. Successful applicants must show proof of registration, travel and medical/travel insurance. Deadline for submitted documentation: June 10th 2011 Eligibility Criteria - Affiliated with organizations with capability & history of conducting addiction research, teaching & /or treatment;
- Involved in addiction research, and/or clinical and teaching activities in the area of addiction medicine;
- Showing promise of developing future research especially activities related to primary care, mental health, psychiatry and addiction specialty;
- Presenting a paper at the ISAM meeting
- Having sufficient knowledge of the language to present in English;
- Fellows must not have received travel support from ISAM in the past years.
- Valid license to practice medicine
- Valid visa (if required) to travel to country of annual meeting (2011 Norway)
- ISAM member (membership dues paid).
- ISAM Board members are not eligible.
Application must include - Abstract: “objectives, methods, results and conclusions” model is expected
- Short curriculum vitae including birthday and list of publications (max two pages)
- Two letters of reference (in English) stating (1) benefits of the applicant to his/her further research and/or clinical practice or teaching, and (2) potential contribution to home country in case of attending the meeting. Members of the Selection Committee are not eligible to write a reference.

Selection Criteria: - Quality of Abstract: Objectives, methods, results, conclusions
- CV: affiliation to addiction related organizations, training research/teaching in addiction, age, future research.
- Potential contribution to home country addiction research and ISAM activities

(6) LOC member Insurance Participants are advised to arrange visa (if required) with adequate time and have arranged adequate coverage for travel and health insurance before departing from their home country. The organizers do not accept to liability for personal injuries or for loss or damage to property belonging to meeting participants, either during or as a result of the event.
